Anatomy of Guitar
In this lesson you will learn about the different parts of a guitar, what they are called and also about the 6 strings present on a 6-strings guitar.
There are basically two types of guitar, which are,
- Acoustic Guitar: projects the sounds of its vibrating strings acoustically through the air with the help of one/multiple holes present in its body.
- Electric Guitar: which generally uses electromagnetic induction to create the signal, which generally requires an amplifier and a speaker, which converts it into sound vibrations loud enough to hear.
Anatomy:
Though there are different types of guitar but they have almost the same anatomy with minor changes. Some of the parts are type specific but most are just common to both of them. It can be understood clearly from the table given below.
First let's just understand the common parts of guitars. You can see in the picture below the common and some specific parts of guitars.

- Every Angry Duck Gonna Break Eggs
- Eddy Ate Dynamite Good Bye Eddy
I personally like the third one easier to remember, but its totally personal preferences which one do you like.
Fret Numbering:
Frets are numbered from open (0) upto the frets near the body(depends on the number of frets and size of the guitar).
In next lesson, we will learn how to tune the guitar and general maintenance tips for the guitars.
